Leh, Aug 06 (KNS): RCFC North (J&K) of NMPB, SKUAST Kashmir has organized “Stakeholders Consultation cum Training Workshop on Medicinal Plants” at HMAARI (SKUAST-K) Stakna Leh, Ladakh from 1st to 3rd August, 2018.
According to KNS, T. Wangdus Executive Councillor Agriculture LAHDC, Leh inaugurated three day workshp organised by RCFC North (J&K) of NMPB, Ministry of AYUSH Govt. of India at HMAARI (SKUAST-K) Stakna Leh, Ladakh.
T. Wangdus graced the occasion as Chief Guest, whereas, Dr. Padma Kumar (Advisor NMPB, Govt. of India) was the Guest of Honour.
The other dignitaries who were present and spoke on the occasion include Prof. Shiekh Bilal Regional Director RCFC North (J&K), Prof. MH Wani Registrar SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. TH Masoodi Associate Director HMAARI SKUAST-K, Dr. Arun Chandan Regional Director RCFC (H.P), Dr. Stobdan Sr. Scientist DIHAR-DRDO Leh, Dr. Padma Gurmet National Institute of SOWA RIGPA Leh, Ashok Kumar NMPB, Dr. Wahid ul Hassan State Medicinal Plants Board and officers from line departments and research organisations.
The event was hosted and moderated by Dr. Peerzada Ishtiyak Dy. Director RCFC North (J&K).
Prof. Shiekh Bilal, Regional Director RCFC North (J&K) delivered the welcome address and informed the gathering about the role and responsibilities of RCFC North of NMPB.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Prof. Bilal also emphasized on the objectives of three days “Stakeholders Consultation cum Training Workshop on Medicinal Plants”.
In his inaugural address, Hon’ble Chief Guest T. Wangdus Executive Councillor Agriculture LAHDC, Leh stressed on the reforms in practices regarding medicinal plants cultivation in Ladakh region of the state.
He stressed upon the Scientists of the region to prioritize and develop agro-techniques of potential medicinal plants for large scale farming in the region.
Dr. Padma Kumar (Advisor NMPB) in his brief address informed the audience about the schemes of NMPB, Govt of India.
He also advised scientists and farmers of the region to come forward and submit appropriate proposals to NMPB for funding under different schemes.
The workshop was conducted in different sessions and was attended by more than 150 delegates from the country.
The participants were taken for field exposure to the DIHRA DRDO and herbal garden of SOWA RIGPA. (KNS)
