Srinagar, Jan 02 (KNS): MLA Langate and AIP supremo Er Rasheed Saturday sustained minor injuries after being dragged by police at Baramulla, where he was going to meet PHE Minister in connection with various problems of his constituency pertaining to PHE and Irrigation department, party spokesman said.
Party spokesman Inam-un-Nabi in a statement to KNS has condemned the murderous assault on Er Rasheed and alleged that he was dragged, abused, misbehaved and his vehicle was also damaged by police using cannons.
He said, “Er Rasheed had sought appointment with the PHE minister during his tour to Baramulla but when he along with his driver and PRO reached Dak Bunglow he was not allowed to enter and was detained at the gate by the heavy contingent of police.
Despite periodic requests that he as a public representative has every right to meet the minister, SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz dragged him by neck and other cops ruthlessly followed which resulted in minor injuries in the knees of Er Rasheed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The attempt seemed to be pre-planned and a pure murderous assault on Er Rasheed which deserves full condemnation.
The attack seems to be part of a larger game plan which police and other agencies have been trying to operate from Badarwah to Delhi and now trying to do it in Kashmir also.”
Spokesman added that Er Rasheed will bring a privilege motion against the concerned SHO, SSP and DIG on Monday and will also move to the court to get FIR lodged against the law breakers in uniform who are acting like a private army of Sang-Parivar.
Spokesman further added that such cowardly acts will not stop Er Rasheed and his colleagues from fighting the injustices at all levels. (KNS)
