Srinagar, Jun 03 (KNS): In order to curtail unnecessary referrals to SMHS and SKIMS Medical college, doctors in SDH Pattan operated rare case of giant lipoma of breast.
Only handful of cases of lipoma of breast are recorded in world literature. Patient aged 62 year old female had swelling of breast for 15 years. She was evaluated and diagnosis of lipoma of breast was made. Initially she was reluctant to get operated in SDH Pattan, insisted on referral to SMHS Hospital or SKIMS Medical college but after proper assurances of preoperative and postoperative care from BMO Dr Masrat Iqbal, she agreed upon to undergo surgery at SDH Pattan.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Patient was operated under MRD No, with lipoma measuring 7x2x1.2 CM from outer lower quadrant of right breast. The operative team included Dr Imtiaz Wani (surgeon) and Dr Amin (Anestheist). Medical officers Dr Manzoor and Dr Irfan were involved in giving best postoperative care. Theatre Assistants were Younis Sofi, Haji Mudasir, Tanveer Shah, Maqbool, Showket and Rehana.
Doing such rare surgery in SDH Pattan is appreciable, reducing referrals to tertiary care. People have appreciated BMO Dr Masrat Iqbal for such efforts and hailed for reducing unnecessary referrals. (KNS)
