Srinagar, Mar 14 (KNS):   Road which connects several villages of lower Ramhal to Handwara town is in dilapidated condition.

The residents which suffer due to dilipated condition of road include Waripora, Neelipora, Magam, Wagat, Shogpora, Geeripora and adjoining villages .

A group of residents of the area told Kashmir News Service over phone that the passenger vehicles of the area are reluctant to ply on the road as they complain that their vehicles are  getting damaged due to potholes on the road.

The aggrieved residents said that they have taken up the matter with the officials of R&B and PMGSY department several times and appealed them to macadamize the road, "but every time we were assured that the road will be repaired this summer, but we don’t know which summer these departments are waiting for," the residents added.

Azhar Ahmad, a class 12th  student of the Wagat told KNS that everyday they are  reaching late to their school due to bad condition of road and most of the times the vehicle owners refuse to ply on  the road.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

 Another resident of the area said that they are not  able to reach the offices,  at the designated time because of the dilipated condition of the road.

 They alleged that the road have not been repaired by the authorities from last several years.

 However when KNS contacted Executive Engineer R&B Division Handwara he admitted that the road is having potholes and said that they have already repaired the road at many places and in coming days they will clear all the potholes on the said road.

Asked about the macadamization of the road he said that at this time they don’t have funds and once the department will receive the funds and they will macadamize the  road. (KNS)
