Rajesh Kumar Pandey takes over as Northern Railway GM

 New Delhi, Feb 18 (KNS) Rajesh Kumar Pandey, a 1989-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineering (IRSSE), has assumed charge as the new General Manager of Northern Railway.

 
An alumnus of IIT Delhi with an M.Tech, Pandey began his career as an Assistant Signal and Telecom Engineer in Barauni. Over his career, he has held key positions, including Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) at the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay division on East Central Railway and various senior roles on Western Railway. He is credited with spearheading the installation of axle counters in Mumbai’s suburban section to ensure uninterrupted monsoon services.
 
Prior to this appointment, Pandey served as Additional Member (Signal) at the Railway Board, where he oversaw the installation of the indigenous Automatic Train Protection system, 'Kavach', across a 400 km stretch.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also played a critical role in the completion of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor during his tenure as DRM.
 
Outlining his priorities for the zone, Pandey has identified strengthening safety protocols, improving punctuality, and rapid infrastructure development as key focus areas. His stated motto is "Rashtra Pratham, Grahak Pratham, Sarvatha Pratham" (Nation First, Customer First, Always First). (KNS)
