Jammu, Feb 28 (KNS) ; In a testament to the commitment of Indian Railways personnel towards passenger service, employees of the Jammu division have been commended for two separate incidents highlighting their honesty and dedication.
The first incident occurred on Train No. 18309 (Amritsar-Jammu Tawi Express), where Chief Inspector of Ticket Checking (CIT) Vijay Kumar, based at Pathankot, swiftly acted upon information that a passenger had alighted at Chandigarh, leaving behind a bag on seat number 4 of coach B3. Recovering the bag, officials found it contained an Acer laptop, a ladies' purse with Rs 700 in cash, and other personal effects. The passenger was promptly informed, and the recovered items were handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Pathankot station for formal return.

In a separate display of compassion on the night of February 26, ticket checking staff on train number 04082 at Jammu railway station provided milk to a passenger travelling with a young child on the S/2 coach, assisting the family in need.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal praised the personnel, stating that the division remains steadfast in its commitment to passenger safety and luggage security. "Such promptness increases passengers' confidence in rail services," he said. The Railways has formally acknowledged the efficient employees, encouraging such exemplary conduct. Passengers have been urged to safeguard their luggage and to contact Rail Madad (139) or on-board staff for any emergencies. (KNS)
