Railway staff reunites missing child with parents at Katra station

 Jammu, May 19 (KNS): A ticket checking staff member at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station reunited a missing child with her parents after spotting her alone and distressed on the station premises, officials said on Tuesday.

 
According to Northern Railway’s Jammu Division, ticket checking staff member Dinesh Kumar noticed the young girl wandering alone and crying during duty at the station.
 
Officials said Kumar immediately approached the child, comforted her and provided water after finding that she was frightened and unable to share details about her family.
 
The railway staff subsequently informed station authorities and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), while announcements describing the child were continuously made through the public address system.

After completion of the necessary verification formalities, the child was safely handed over to her family.
 
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal commended the prompt response of the staff member and said the railway administration remained committed to passenger safety and assistance.
 
“Ticket Checking Staff Shri Dinesh Kumar not only performed his duty with full responsibility but also set an excellent example of humanity. It was his quick thinking and alertness that enabled a little girl to be safely reunited with her family,” Singhal said.
 
The parents expressed gratitude to the railway administration and staff for their assistance, officials added.(KNS).
