Bigg Boss 20 appearance brings Kashmiri singer back into national spotlight

Srinagar, Oct 13 (KNS): Kashmiri singer and Bigg Boss 20 contestant Qazi Touqeer is planning a music collaboration with playback singer Arijit Singh, nearly 21 years after the two appeared together on the reality singing show Fame Gurukul.

Touqeer's brother, Touseef, has revealed that the two singers are planning a major project, although its details and release date have not been announced.

The development comes as the Srinagar-born singer continues to attract national attention following his participation in Bigg Boss 20.

Touqeer rose to prominence in 2005 after winning Fame Gurukul alongside Ruprekha Banerjee. Arijit Singh was also a contestant on the show.

While Arijit subsequently established himself as a leading playback singer, Touqeer continued pursuing music, live performances and acting.

His return to reality television has renewed public interest in his career, particularly in Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Meanwhile, Touqeer recently became emotional during a Weekend Ka Vaar episode after host Salman Khan questioned contestants Scout OP and Yung DSA over their conduct towards him while he was unwell.

Salman criticised the contestants over their behaviour during disagreements involving Touqeer, including an argument over food provided to him during his illness.

Touqeer spoke about the difficulties he had faced inside the house, prompting Salman to intervene.

His family has also spoken about the professional challenges he faced after Fame Gurukul and expressed optimism about his future projects.

The proposed collaboration with Arijit Singh, if finalised, would bring together the former Fame Gurukul contestants after more than two decades.

However, no official announcement regarding the recording or release of the proposed project has been made so far. (KNS)
