Srinagar, Jul 03 (KNS): PDF General Secretary and senior leader from Pulwama Mir Abdul Qayoom has appealed the government to review restrictions imposed on Highway and Railway during Amarnath Yatra period.
Qayoom said that Jammu-Srinagar is the only link to the rest of the work for Kashmir and is an important trade and civilian route.
He said that railway service between Baramulla and Banihal is a convenient travel route for thousands of people who would commute by train.
He said that restrictions on the highway for vehicular traffic for five hours during the Yatra period will have economic and human repurcussions on the people of Kashmir.

He said that restrictions on the highway will take an economic toll on orchardists who have already faced losses due to weather vagaries last month.
He appealed the Governor administration to review the restrictions in the larger interests of the people of the Valley and the state.
He added that Kashmiri have for over two centuries been hosts to yatris and said that state governor has appreciated recently the hospitality of Kashmiri people towards yatris over the years. (KNS)
