‘Will make sure children continue their education’

Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): PwC India in partnership with humanitarian non-profit organisation Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) inaugurated the reconstructed Naved-e-Seher Government Primary School in Nowdal Village of Pulwama district, Jammu & Kashmir on 24 May 2014. This primary school was severely damaged by the floods that ravaged the region in 2014.
The event was graced by Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh. PwC India Chairman Deepak Kapoor, Head Master of Naved-e-Seher Government Primary School Mohammad Ayub, District Magistrate Niraj Kumar, Commandant –CRPF (Tral) P.C.Gupta, teachers and students were also present.
The school’s infrastructure now boasts five classrooms, toilet blocks, drinking water facilities which will help to run classes for the 125 school children.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council said, “I appreciate the efforts put in by SEEDs and PwC India in building this school for our children. I request PwC to continue its efforts in Jammu & Kashmir in the areas of education especially of the girl child, sanitation and disaster resilience related programmes.”
Deepak Kapoor, Chairman, PwC India said, “A school is much more than a building. It is the place where children discover the world with the help of their teachers. It gives me immense happiness to say that what began 18 months ago, was not just a journey to rebuild a school but to also rekindle hope in the hearts of the people and children in Pulwama in J&K.”
The new school will make sure these children can continue their education and further their dreams. (KNS)
