Srinagar, Aug 26 (KNS): Five security personnel, including two CRPF and three policemen, were killed in the ongoing militant attack on highly guarded District Police Line in Pulwama, while bodies to two militants have been recovered by police.
Police officials said that the third militant is trapped in a building and the operation against him will end by the evening.
Director General of Police, Dr SP Vaid told KNS that two CRPF jawans, three policemen (one police constable and two SPOs) were “martyred” in the attack on DPL Pulwama by the militants.
“Bodies of two militants have been recovered. The third militant is trapped in a building and the operation against him will end soon,” Vaid told KNS.

Police officials said that the militants stormed into the buildings of DPL at about 4 am today from its rear-side and started random firing on security forces.
“The militants entered into the buildings housing police officials in the DPL and fired indiscriminately. In the initial firing, the damage was inflicted on the security,” police officials said.
Earlier, the district administration suspended the mobile internet in Pulwama, while daily activities including schools and businesses, were closed.
Meanwhile, Jaish-e-Mohammad Spokesman, in a tele-statement to KNS claimed responsibility for the attack. (KNS)
