Pulwama, Mar 31 (KNS): Waking up to resolve the tussle between truckers’ groups in Khrew in Pulwama, the district administration has decided to take stringent action against the people who will try to prevent the truckers carrying cement from the local factories.
The government has decided to issue coupons to issue coupons to the truckers for ferrying cement from the factories and not to allow union interference it.
“Any unscrupulous element trying to violate the atmosphere and prevent the constituted body to exercise their mandate shall be booked under the relevant provisions of law including the provisions of Regulation of Essential Commodities Act,” official statement of the government said today.

The decision was taken in a meeting at Awantipora Thursday in which Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Niraj Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, SSP Awantipora, ADC Pulwama, RTO Kashmir, ARTO Pulwama and the representatives of truck unions were present.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“ARTO Pulwama and Naib Tehsildar Khrew shall prepare and issue coupons to the truckers for the purpose and no Union shall be involved in it,”
As per the decision Tehsildar Pampore, ARTO Pulwama, Executive Officer MC, Khrew and Naib Tehsildar Khrew shall regulate the business of all trucks on the basis of rotation. ARTO Pulwama and Naib Tehsildar Khrew shall prepare and issue coupons to the truckers for the purpose and no Union shall be involved in it.
The truckers of Halqa Nagandar had been at loggerhead with the Zaffron Truck union over ferrying cement from the local industries. (KNS)?
