Srinagar, 15 January (KNS): Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) today congratulated Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot on being appointed as Vice Chancellor for the consecutive third time in a row.

As per the statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service(KNS), Dr Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA and Chairman Aryans group of colleges  while congratulating said that the Hon’ble VC has done a wonderful job in academics as well as in medical field for the past so many years.

Before joining the Faridkot-based BFUHS, Dr Bahadur, known for his excellence in spinal surgery, had been serving as the Director-Principal of Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. He was also the head of the Orthopaedics department at PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Besides this, Dr Raj Bahadur played an important role in building Mother & Child Hospital Block in Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital. He has also introduced system of online evaluation of answer scripts and online transmission of question papers. He started a medicine outlet called Amrit Pharmacy in the premises of the college. During his tenure of six years as VC in Faridkot, the post graduation seats have also increased by significant numbers.

Dr Bahadur got appointed as VC of Baba Farid University, Faridkot on December 21, 2014 for the first time. Considering his efforts in imparting quality education and providing people a better health infrastructure, he was repeatedly granted two extensions by the Governor of Punjab (KNS).
