A Public Information Campaign at Pulwama was inaugurated today by Minister for Horticulture, Haj and Auqaf, Mr Abdul Rehsman Veeri. The Minister formally inaugurated the three day information – cum – interactive sessions and exhibition.
The event has been organized by the Press Information Beeru of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, to create awareness about various welfare schemes and flagship programmes of the Government.
Member Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Khlil Bandh was present on occasion.
On this occasion, the Minister said aiming to promote various rural development programmes on employment, health, welfare schemes and poverty, a countrywide 'Jan Suchna Abhiyan' has been initiated by the Centre government.

The Minister said the programme is meant to make people, particularly in rural areas, aware of the welfare schemes and programmes of Central and State governments, their benefits and how to make use of these schemes. He said misuse of the schemes can be avoided if officials and people’s representatives’ work in tandem.
Nearly 40 stalls depicting various developments& welfare initiatives of the government are being effectively laid out in the exhibition venue.
Various sessions on Swachh Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, MGNREGA, Rural Development, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, NHM, Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana, ICDS, Women empowerment were addressed by government officials and opinion makers. (KNS)
