Providing security, accommodation to conman a mistake, probe on: ADGP Vijay Kumar

 Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNS): Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on Sunday said that property used for terrorist activity or used by terrorists for shelter will be attached whether be that a vehicle, building or a house. 


He also termed a "mistake" for providing a security cover and bullet proof vehicle to a conman from Gujrat who posed as Additional Director (Strategy and Operations) of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and was taking a Z-plus security cover from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a bulletproof Mahindra Scorpio SUV, official accommodation in a five-star hotel and much more.

"How this mistake has happened is being investigated by the police," the Kashmir Police chief while speaking to media persons here at Srinagar said, adding that intelligence agencies alerted the police about an impostor posing as a PMO official. After verifying his background, a team led by a senior IPS officer raided a hotel and arrested the Conman from Gujrat and recovered fake visiting cards from him," he said. The ADGP also added that a team of Gujarat Police is also joining the investigation.

The ADGP said that strict action will be taken against those officers who ordered for providing security to the Conman. On increasing crime rates, the ADGP said that there is no surge in the crime cases but people are reporting crimes before the police following which the cases are being investigated thoroughly.
