Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): The agitating National Youth Corps (NYC) Thursday met state Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu in his office at Secretariat a day before they had announced “self immolation” protest to demand regularization form the PDP-BJP government.
Sources said that Drabu has told the agitating youth that he would discuss the issue to work out a roadmap on how the government would absorb them in different departments.
Drabu insisted that the NYC should call off their “self immolation” protest as it was not the right way to register it.

“We met the Finance Minister at his office who told us that he will resubmit our file in the cabinet. But, we will not call off the protest programme unless we don’t get a written assurance from the government,” NYC spokesman Riyaz Ahmad told KNS over phone, adding that they have cancelled the self immolation protest as their president was detained by police.
On the heels of the “self immolation” protest announced by NYC president Asif Bhat, police whisked away Bhat from Partap Park here and detained him in Kothibagh police station. (KNS)
