Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNS): Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district have attached property of an alleged drug peddler under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said.
The attached property includes a vehicle — an auto load carrier — valued at around Rs 1.5 lakh, they said.
According to police, the vehicle was allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from the sale of illicit drugs and psychotropic substances.
The accused has been identified as Irfan Rashid Sofi, a resident of Brar Bandipora, who is involved in a case registered under FIR No.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel02/2026 at Police Station Aragam under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
The property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after confirmation from the competent authority under the SAFEMA Act in New Delhi, officials said.
Police said the action is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the district.
They also appealed to the public to share information about drug-related activities with the nearest police station, assuring strict action against those involved.(KNS).
