Srinagar, 12 Sept (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar Saturday said the party will continues to strive at every level for the restoration of constitutional and democratic rights, as well as statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Sagar said this while addressing a meeting of the legislators from Srinagar district at the party headquarters today. The meeting held detailed discussions on political activities in Srinagar district, party programmes, issues and difficulties confronting the people, the pace of development and ongoing projects.
Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous, MLA Lal Chowk Ahsan Pardesi, MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar and Srinagar District President Peer Afaq Ahmad were present at the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar said that fulfilling the commitments made to the people remains among the top priorities of the National Conference government, and every possible effort will be made to honour these promises.
He said that the people cannot be misled by the objectionable language and fabricated allegations being levelled against the National Conference by the BJP and its like-minded parties.
Sagar said that conspiracies and propaganda against the National Conference are nothing new. Attempts to weaken the party have continued since the time of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHowever, he said, the unwavering support and trust of the people, coupled with the National Conference’s commitment to public service, have defeated every such conspiracy.
He said that the National Conference is not merely a political party but an ideology, a movement and a sentiment deeply rooted among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and no force can sever its bond with the people.
Sagar said that parties working on the agenda of Nagpur cannot claim to be the well-wishers or sympathisers of the people of Kashmir. The people, he said, are fully aware of the intentions and political agenda of such forces and cannot be distanced from reality through misleading propaganda.
He urged the party’s legislators and office-bearers to maintain close contact with the people, raise their issues on a priority basis before the appropriate forums, and play a proactive role in further strengthening the National Conference’s people-centric and democratic agenda.
Meanwhile public delegations and party workers from different parts of the Valley called on the General Secretary and apprised him of various issues and difficulties. Sagar contacted the concerned authorities on the spot and directed them to take necessary measures for their early resolution.(KNS)
