Zaffar Manhas welcomes the new entrants into party-fold

SRINAGAR, July 06:(KNS)  Prominent political activists hailing from district Shopian on Tuesday joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

The new entrants who joined Apni Party included prominent ex-NC affiliate Sartaj Ahmad Ganei, ex-deputy Sarpanch Chek Shirmal Mushtaq Ahmad Rather and Nambardar Potarwal Ghulam Hassan Padroo.

The joining ceremony took place in presence of Party Vice President Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Provincial Youth Coordinator Kashmir Imtiyaz Rather and District Secretary Shopian Advocate Tanveer Tak.

Welcoming the new entrants into the party-fold, Zaffar Manhas impressed on them to work selflessly for the welfare of the common people in their respective areas.

‘The political legitimacy of any party always depends on the works it does for the welfare of the people. The region of Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a developmental stagnation due to the apathetic attitude of various regional parties and currently a bureaucratic hegemony that needs to end now,” he remarked.

He said: “Apni Party has pledged to shun hollow sloganeering as the party has always put efforts to work at grassroots level for the betterment of the condition of the people,” he observed.

Stressing over carrying out the membership drive on a fast-track basis in Shopian, Manhas said that the membership drives should focus on mobilization of men and women at micro level to strengthen and expand progressive space across Jammu and Kashmir.

“We need to encourage men and women from all walks of life to get connected with the agenda of our Party. It is our primary responsibility to carry forward our program to the grass root level with an aim to strengthen the Party and counter the government on different issues confronting the people across J&K especially the district Shopian,” he observed.(KNS)
