 Srinagar December 25:(KNS) Several prominent political activists some of whom contested the recently concluded DDC elections in district Shopian on Friday joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk Srinagar.

The new entrants to the Apni Party included: Shabir Ahmad Deedad DDC runner up from Keller-I, Advocate Mohammad Tanveer Tak DDC runner up from Shopian-II, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Dr. Tanvir Ahmad Rather, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Mishri Ahmad and Ghulam Nabi Khanday.

The joining ceremony took place in presence of the Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Sr. Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Vice President Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Party’s leader and DDC Member from Keller -II Irfan Manhas, party leader and DDC Member from Keller-I Fazaldin Deedad and party leader and DDC Member from Kanji-ullar Tahir Ahmad Mir.

On this occasion, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari stressed on the need for the Party leadership to disseminate the Party's agenda which is aimed at empowering the people at the grassroots level in Jammu and Kashmir.

He welcomed the new entrants into the party-fold while exhorting on them to put in their untiring efforts for the redressal of public grievances. “The core agenda of Apni Party revolves around the comprehensive development of Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring the protection of rights of people on their land and jobs,” he said, while reiterating his demand for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on this event, the new entrants pledged to work for strengthening the Party at the grassroots and to utilize all the forums available to them for redressal of public woes.(KNS)
