Terms remarks of Naeem Akhtar as ‘absurd’

Srinagar, July 11(KNS): Terming the present situation as sensitive, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday said “we must move forward together in a unified approach”. He also supported the shutdown call given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference on July 12 and 13
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah talked to father of Shaheed Burhan Wani on phone and assured him that whole nation is indebted to the sacrifices of martyrs.
He also reiterated his pledge of taking forward the mission of martyrs. A team of Freedom Party is already in Tral since lasttwo days.
Shah strongly condemned the firing of teargas shells by police inside hospitals and beating of the injured persons and their families saying this is the worst example of “police terrorism”.
He warned police to mend its ways and stop resorting to vengeful and anti-people measures.
Shah also appealed people to donate blood for the needy in hospitals while expressing concern over the increasing toll of the injured.
Terming the statement of the government spokesperson Naeem Akhtar as “absurd”, Shah said if Indian forces would have targeted the pro-India minister’s son, he wouldn’t have made such remarks, adding that, “Whatever he said was aimed at pleasing his masters in New Delhi.”

The July 13 martyrs sacrificed their lives to wipe out the shadows of oppression which the present rulers are inflicting upon the people of the state.”
