Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat (G) leader and JK Insaf Party chairman G A Gulzar termed the deteriorating condition of all prisoners of conscience belonging to the Freedom movement of Kashmir as ‘the worst type of Human Rights Violation at the hands of Indian jail authorities’.
According to the statement issue to KNS, Gulzar said that all the political prisoners face acute problem of substandard food items, scarcity of medical facilities and the inhuman treatment meted out to the close relatives of the detainees seeking interviews with them.
The statement condemned the ‘autocratic’ behavior of the rulers of India to destroy the political stage and space in Jammu and Kashmir by using the ‘undemocratic and despotic methods’ of keeping the genuine leadership of the people, either behind the bars or under house arrest continuously.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The statement lauded the role of Musarat Alam Bhat, Dr. Mohammad Qasim, Dr. Mohammad Shafi, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, M. Rustam Bhat, M. Ramzan Bhat, Syed Bashir Bukhari, Ab, Hameed Mir, Muzaffer Ahmad Dar and all others languishing in different jails.
Gulzar also expressed his grief and deep sorrow on the demise of a veteran activist of Plebiscite Front, Syed Saifudin Bukhari of Kriri Baramulla. He was jailed when he was a young boy and faced many hardships.
Insaf Party paid rich tributes to the deceased and prayed for his eternal peace. (KNS)
