Srinagar, May 30 (KNS): Dr Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, J&K today took an extensive tour of North Kashmir wherein he visited District Hospital Baramulla & Sub District Hospital Sopore. The Principal Secretary who was accompanied with Director General Health Services, Dr Saleem ur Rehman & Joint Director Planning Madan Lal inspected various sections of both the hospitals & interacted with OPD & IPD patients & their attendants. He took keen interest in the hospital functioning particularly of Emergency Rooms, Gynae sections and availability of free drugs for the patients.
He visited the additional block of SDH Sopore wherein he was apprised by the engineers of construction agency about the status of the building. While inspecting the under construction Nursing College at Sopore, he directed the construction agency for speedy completion of the project.
Dr Kotwal while inspecting the District Hospital Baramulla took appraisal of Trial Run of the 6 bedded Dialysis Unit which will be made fully functional after the successful completion of trial run.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Later Dr Kotwal visited the site embarked for the establishment of Nursing College at Baramulla where he laid stress on the officers & the construction agency to complete the college within the stipulated time. He said that 20 kanals of land shall be made available for the Nursing College. The Principal Secretary while inspecting ANMT school Baramulla stressed upon the principal to upgrade the academic division and upgrade the library with modern skill & research based books for the benefit of the students. After that he visited the Old Hospital building of Baramulla. On way back the principal secretary visited Pattan to take stock of shifting of health care delivery system to the new hospital building.
The District Administration which apprised the team about the health care service and status included Dr Bashir Chalkoo, CMO Baramulla, Dr Syed Masood, MS DH Baramulla & Dr Sami Zargar, BMO Sopore along with other district health officials. (KNS)
