Hoists National Flag on 79th Independence Day
Jammu, August 15 (KNS) : Principal Accountant General (PAG) J&K, K P Yadav, on the eve of the 79th Independence Day, hoisted the National Flag at his office headquarters in Jammu.
During his speech, Yadav raised concern over the natural disasters occurring due to climate change and expressed anguish over the destruction caused by the recent Chositi Kishtwar incident. He said that carrying out environmental audits during the execution of developmental works is the need of the hour, as it will help reduce such incidents.
PAG emphasised that the Government has initiated several programmes and schemes for the welfare of the public, and that highlighting the shortcomings in their implementation while suggesting ways to improve them is the responsibility of his office.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also pointed out that the Dharali and Kishtwar incidents are manifestations of interference with nature, and that there has been environmental degradation in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Carrying out environmental audits in their true letter and spirit, he said, will help minimise such disasters.
