Says, those who motivate youth towards militancy slapped with PSA

Srinagar, May 30 (KNS) : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Monday said that in order to prevent the youth from joining militancy police is working on a multi-dimensional front to prevent the local youth from joining militancy and have been largely successful in bringing some youth with the help if their parents. 

Talking to media men as per the News Agency Kashmir News Service- KNS IGP Kashmir said, “We are working on multi-dimensional fronts to prevent local youth from joining militant organizations, while some have been brought back with the support if their parents and some have been brought back with the help of technical surveillance ".

The IGP said that those who are left out are also given surrender opportunity during the encounters. " I appeal to the family members and parents of militants to cooperate  with police and motivate the youth to return who are on the path of militancy ", IGP added.

Speaking about the Pulwama encounter, IGP said two slain were locals and affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit. He said that the slain were identified as Saqib and Abid who were involved in the killing of police constable Reyaz Ahmed on May 13 at Gudoora, Pulwama.

IGP also said that those who motivate and lure young boys towards militancy are being slapped with PSA.(KNS)
