Urges Centre to restore statehood before holding assembly elections to restore people's trust, confidence

Budgam, Dec 11 (KNS): Maintaining that prevailing unrest and socio- political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir was the result of repeated betrayals of promises made to the people by the previous state and Central Governments, Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has urged the present dispensation at Centre to work for restoring people's trust for removing deep rooted alienation. He said these political parties have once again started to exploit emotions of innocent people for satiating thier vested political interests.

Addressing PDF workers' Convention at Khansahib town in central Kashmiri's Budgam district on Saturday , Hakeem Yaseen said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were facing the brunt of mistakes commited by the successive ruling parties. "However, people have now lost trust on them, Hakeem Yaseen observed while urging the present dispensation at the Centre, especially Prime Minister Narindra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah to rise to the occasion, to bridge the prevailing alienation by fulfilling their promises about safe guarding constitutional rights and restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest. He said people of Jammu and Kashmir want protection to their rights on land, employment and honour adding that onus lies on the present dispensation at the Centre to come up to their expectations. He urged the centre to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before holding assembly elections for building confidence among the people adding that this good will gesture would be surely in the larger interests of the country.

PDF Chairman cautionined the people against machinations of some traditional political parties who are once again out to exploit emotions of the people to regain thier lost chair. "How a political party, that didn't keep thier promises made to the people during last about 50 years , could be trusted about their tall claims to fight for the honour and dignity of the people," Hakeem Yaseen questioned. Infact, these parties were shedding crocodile tears to grab the lost chair, by resorting to usual lies," Hakeem Yaseen maintained. He said these are the parties which are primarily responsible for the prevailing explosive situation and socio-political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir adding that people should understand thier double standards.

The senior political leader also slammed the administration for its utter failure to improve power supply in Jammu and Kashmir adding that people were facing tremendous hardships due to erratic power position during the present harshest winter. He said unscheduled power cuts have made life of common people especially students most miserable. (KNS)
