Power outages amid heavy tariffs in countryside deeply worrying: PC

Srinagar, Nov 09 (KNS): Former legislator and senior PC leader Mansoor Hussain Sohrawardhy has expressed concern over the erratic electricity supplies in rural areas of Kashmir valley at the very onset of the winter season. 

In a statement issued to KNS, Mansoor while attending a meeting at Kawarigam, Shangas was apprised by the local populace about the hardships they have been facing due to frequent power outages, leaving the people perturbed at large. He added that children who are availing online education due to the lockdown are facing immense difficulties due to erratic power supplies and that there are mounting complaints about heavy tariffs of power being imposed on otherwise economically downtrodden people of Shangas and allied hamlets. 

Mansoor has said that amid the approaching winter months, the frequent outages in rural areas are deeply concerning and that the government must intervene and address the problem on priority. The PC leader also demanded the seizure of heavy electricity tariffs keeping in view the economic crises people of the rural areas are reeling under due various factors. (KNS)
