Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNS): In the militancy hotbed south Kashmir, the J&K police have come up with Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project. The project was inaugurated by DIG South Kashmir S P Pani.
The mammoth task achieved by the region with currently 16 police stations of South Kashmir Range working on an online platform is useless if there are frequent power outages. Kashmir valley is acute power shortage during the winters that compels people to hit the roads in protest.
However, to run the CCTNS project smoothly, the south Kashmir police range DIG S P Pani told KNS Correspondent Tassaduq Rashid that they have arranged a proper back-up system by installing inverters working on solar panels.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Police officials see the installation of project something “commendable” as it will not only reduce the work load. The CCTNC project is a first of its kind in the region. The north and central Kashmir regions lack the system. Even Jammu region lags in the Centre backed CCTNS,” official sources told KNS.
According to police, the project will enable people to know the status of their online complaints, registration of FIRs at any police station with ease. The project also boasts of bringing in transparency and accountability in the police department. (KNS)
