Srinagar, Apr 16 (KNS) : An awareness programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (POSH) Act was organised here on Thursday by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Magam in collaboration with the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum (HRACF) and the Women Development Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Magam.
The event, held under the direction of the State Legal Services Authority and the guidance of District Legal Services Authority Budgam Chairman O P Bhagat and the supervision of its Secretary Tabasum Parray, aimed to sensitise participants about legal safeguards and redressal mechanisms under the POSH Act.
Resource persons including HRACF President Mudasir Ahmad Naikoo, its ST/SC President Farooq Ahmed Khatana, Secretary Shahid Zubair, TLSC Magam panel lawyer Hilal Ahmad Malla, advocates Manzoor Mattoo and Sheikh Ishfaq Rasool delivered insights on prevention, prohibition, and the role of Internal Committees in ensuring a safe working environment.

TLSC Magam Chairman Rabyia Snober Gulzar graced the event as the chief guest, while GDC Magam Principal Prof Dr Tasleema Bano extended full support for the programme. The event was welcomed by Women Development Cell Convener Dr Shabana Ali, who stressed the importance of workplace safety and dignity of women.
The programme saw active participation from para-legal volunteers, students, faculty, and staff. TLSC Magam Junior Assistant Iram Aziz proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all stakeholders. (KNS)
