Budgam, May 08 (KNS): On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole, a team from Excise Department accompanied by Revenue Department Budgam and Police personnel today carried out a surprise drive in village Mamamat Budgam and on spot destroyed Poppy cultivation on 3 three kanals of land.

Speaking on the occasion Tehsildat Budgam Madam Nusrat Aziz who supervised the whole proceedings accompanied by Range Officer Excise Department Srinagar Mr Imtiyaz Ahmad said that the drive launched today will continue with more vigour and force and will be result oriented.

She said people in general particularly from the concerned village appreciate and hailed the initiative launched by the administration.

She added that the same drive will be carried out in other villages where such complaints may pour in future.(KNS)
