Poppy cultivation on 3 kanals of land destroyed by Srinagar Police

 
Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): Srinagar police on Monday destroyed poppy cultivation on 3 kanals of land at Bongam area of Khunmoh.
 
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), today afternoon an information was recieved from a diligent citizen about illegal cultivation of Poppy (opium plant) at Bongam. 
 
The statement reads that accordingly a police party consisting of personnel from Police post Khunmoh, SDPO Column and Panthachowk Police station alongwith revenue officials, led by SHO Panthachowk and Incharge Khunmoh post reached to the spot and destroyed the illegally cultivated Poppy on a field measuring about 03 Kanals of land there.
 
It reads that a case in this regards has been registered under FIR no 33/2022 u/s 8(b) of NDPS Act and investigation has started. 
 
“The accused who did this cultivation have been identified and are absconding presently. Efforts are on to arrest them,” it reads. (KNS)
