Police rescues minor boy from drowning in B'la Village

Uri, August 10 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday rescued a minor boy from drowning in river Jhelum in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a minor namely Sahil Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Afzal resident of Ijara Pehlipora of Baramulla district jumped into the river Jhelum for having bath but at the same time he got trapped into the depth of river Jhelum.

Soon after his cries sounded at the spot, SHO Guantmulla Sajad Ahmad along with his team started rescue operation and used strenous efforts to bring the minor out from deep waters.

After effots of local police, the minor's life was saved. The rescue operation was done under the supervision of DySP headquarters Baramulla Gulzar Rasheed and overall supervison of SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom.

However the police advised locals not to bath in the river Jehlum due to rising incidents of drowning across the valley.

SHO Gantamulla, Sajad Ahmad was highly appreciated by the locals and his staff for his timely efforts. (KNS)
