Srinagar, Jul 04 (KNS): Budgam Police on Tuesday recovered a dead body of a missing man who was missing since Jun 30.
Police also claimed to have arrested the accused involved in the killing of a man.
Police said that on Jun 30, this year, Budgam police received information regarding missing of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganai, resident of Galwanpora, Hyderpora Budgam, who had left his home on Jun 29 towards Anantnag in his private vehicle along with cash of Rs 5.0 lacs.
On receipt of this information, Budgam Police swung into action to trace out the missing person.
During the course of investigation, after technical analysis corroborated with the leads received from family members, the suspect namely Javid Poswal, son of Lal-din Poswal, resident of Jajarkotli Jammu A/P Pahalgam Anantnag was picked up.
On sustained questioning of Javid Ahmad Poswal, he confessed his crime and admitted that the person namely Mushatq Ahmad Ganai was called by him to Mattan, Anantnag alongwith cash for the purchase of Sheep (livestock) and under that disguise took him uphill to take away his money and killed him with the help of two other persons identified as Mohammad Ashraf Kalookhel, son of Mohammad Rafiq, resident of Kotbalwal, Jammu A/P Lethpora Awantipora and Imran Poswal @ Mannu, son of Mohammad Shafi Poswal, resident of Jajarkotli Jammu A/P Pehalgam Anantnag.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
After execution of criminal conspiracy to kill that person, the accused trio dumped his body in the bushes of the Mattan forest, almost 11 kms from the Mattan Police Station.
The body of the deceased was recovered only after the identification of the place of occurrence by the accused Javid Ahmad Poswal.
The body of the deceased was then taken from the Forest to Mattan Police Station and thereafter to District Hospital Anantnag for post-mortem. The relatives of the deceased have been informed accordingly.
In this regard a case FIR No. 63/2017 u/s 302- RPC has been registered in P/S Mattan Anantnag. (KNS)
