Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNS): A heavy police contingent raided yesterday night the Rajbagh headquarters of the People’s Political Party (PPP) and many other places to arrest the party Chairman and senior Hurriyat leader, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War. Engineer War in order to foil the ‘Srinagar Million March’ scheduled on November 7, 2015. Engineer Hilal War said that we will continue with our “Million March” program come what may.
In a statement to KNS, PPP Chief Tuesday lashed out at Mufti-led PDP-BJP government over the crackdown on pro freedom leadership on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to this conflict zone of South Asia (Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir). This unconstitutional action of Mufti led Government has proved the slogan of battle of ideas a hoax. Chairman War condemned the arrest of pro freedom leaders and activists.

The arm-twisting tactics of the State and the Centre yet again underscore the fact that India leaves no scope open for peaceful and political means in Kashmir and on the contrary forces the youth to take to arms, as they are left with no option. Situations like these are in themselves a referendum to suggest what Kashmiris want. India and the rest of the world too should read the writing on the wall and ensure a permanent resolution of the burning K-issue.
“If New Delhi believes that by keeping the Kashmiri leadership in detention centers she can strangulate the voice of freedom, it is grossly mistaken. It will backfire big time and New Delhi will have to pay a heavy price for it,” said Engineer War. “New Delhi must know the situation will get so ugly that it will never be able to control it.” “We can’t take it hands down. India is shrinking the space for peaceful dissenters as well. Actions like these are highly condemnable and will force even the pacifists to think of other options.” (KNS)
