Police Issue Stern Warning Over Fake Video Circulation in Baramulla

 Srinagar, January 25 (KNS) ; Police in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Sunday said it will take action under the stringent Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against individuals involved in creating and disseminating a "maliciously fabricated" video on social media.

 
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the video, which they have verified as "completely false," is being circulated with the intent to "misinform the public and disturb public order."
 
"Several social media handles amplifying this fake content have been identified.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOne of the primary handles has already been withheld in India following a legal demand," a senior police official told KNS.
 
The police have warned that any individual or page involved in the creation, circulation, or amplification of the content will face strict legal action under the BNS and the Information Technology Act.
 
"Social media platforms are under continuous surveillance to trace all perpetrators. We advise the public to rely solely on official communications and refrain from sharing unverified information," the official said. (KNS)
