Police inspector shot at by militants in Batamaloo, injured: Police

 Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): A police inspector was fired upon and injured in Batamaloo area of Srinagar after he was returning home from a local mosque, police said here in Monday.

 
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that militants fired upon and injured police inspector Sheikh Firdous in Batamaloo area of Srinagar today evening when he was returning home after offering prayers in a local mosque.
 
He said that soon after the incident, the injured cop was shifted to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
 
The official said that area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, while further details will be shared accordingly. (KNS)
