Police holds PCPG meeting at Police Station Kralgund

Handwara June 24:(KNS)  As a part of public outreach programme, Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was facilitated by Handwara Police at Police Station Kralgund. The meeting was organized while following social distancing norms and other Covid protocols.

 

The meeting was chaired by SP Handwara Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS alongwith DySP PC Kralgund, SHO PS Kralgund and was attended by Panchs, Sarpanchs, Members of Trade Federation, Numberdars, Chowkidars and respectable citizens of the area.

 

The main aim of the meeting was to strengthen the Police Public relationship and to aware the participants about the SOPs and other guidelines of Covid-19 issued by the Govt.

 

During the meeting, the participants raised various issues including shortage of drinking water, drug menace, unscheduled power supply, installation of solar lights, bad drainage system in Kralgund Market, etc. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. The participants were also briefed about the precautionary measures to be adopted to contain the spread Covid-19.

 

SP Handwara also assured the participants that strict action against drug peddlers will continue in its full pace as per the law. Public cooperation is important in identifying drug peddlers so that police can take curative steps against them.

 

The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely. The meeting concluded with a positive note.

Police arrests drug peddler in Kulgam; Contraband substance recovered

 

June 24: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

 

Officers from Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Mirbazar Chowk intercepted a person identified as Mohammad Ishaq Shan son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Nowpora Akhran. During checking, officers were able to recover 10.2 Kg of Poppy Straw and 98 Spasmoproxyvon capsules from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

 

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 152/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.

 

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(KNS)
