Police held PCPG meetings in Baramulla & Kulgam;

Srinagar March 19 (KNS): In order to bridge the gap between police & public, Police facilitated Police Community Partnership Group meetings (PCPG) in Baramulla and Kulgam. Besides, SSP Baramulla distributes sports kits among the local youth during interaction meet.

In Baramulla, police-public interaction meet was held at Zoogiyar Sheeri and was chaired by SSP Baramulla  Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, besides, DySP Hqrs Baramulla, SHO PS Sheeri and Chairman Save Youth Save were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by Sarpanch, Panchs, respectable citizens, social/sports/cultural activists, Imams, youth of Zoogiyar Sheeri, Fatehgarh, Gantamulla, Narwav and other adjoining areas.

Kohinoor Club Zoogiyar performed musical concert to welcome SSP Baramulla which entertained all gathering at the venue.

Meanwhile in Kulgam, the interaction meetings were held at Police Station Qazigund & Police Post Mirbazar. The meetings were chaired by SDPO Qazigund besides executive magistrate Qazigund, SHO Qazigund, IC PP Mirbazar along with other officers and officials of Police Station Qazigund & PP Mirbazar and civil administration were also present on the occasion. The meetings was attended by PRI representatives, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Youth, Auqaf committee members and large number of respectable members of the area.

During the interaction meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance and the chairing officers assured them that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

While speaking on the occasion, chairing officers reiterated that policing at grassroot level would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people. Public interaction is a bridge between Police & Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses. It was also stressed upon the general public to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society.

Later in Baramulla, SSP Baramulla distributed sports kits among the youth of Zoogiyar and Fatehgarh areas and also announced cash prize of ?10k to Kohinoor Club Zoogiyar for their musical show.

The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order, besides, identify the anti-national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.(KNS)
