The funeral prayers of the youth was held at Boys Higher secondary school Handwara in which thousands of people participated.
Nayeem, resident of Banday Mohalla of Handwara town in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was later laid to rest in martyr’s graveyard in Handwara.
Clashes erupted between youth and forces today morning in Handwara against the killings of two youth and a woman on Tuesday, with forces firing tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters.
However, the SP Handwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani told KNS that situation is “under control” and the authorities have imposed curfew in the area to restrict movement of the people.

Bhat, who was First year student in Government Degree College Handwara, had shown extra-ordinary performance in the state level under-19 cricket competition.
The resident of Banday Mohalla, Handwara, Nayeem was the first cricketer selected for under-19 cricket coaching camp from district Kupwara.
Nayeem, who played for ‘Star Eleven’ Handwara, is recalled by his friends as a talented batsman, whose presence in the team would scare bowlers in the opponent teams.
“While army and forces are promoting sports and cricket activities in Kupwara district under ‘Sadhbhavna’, at the same time they are killing youth here. Nayeem’s killing is a fresh case. He was a cricket buff. But his journey was cut short by forces,” said Waseem Ahmad, a child hood friend of Nayeem. (KNS)
