Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNS): Stating that a bi-sexual youth has cheated and murdered Owais Bashir Malik, DIG central Kashmir, Ghulam Hassan Bhat on Tuesday said that four persons, including the main accused, has been arrested.
Addressing a news conference here at Police Control Room (PCR), DIG Bhat said that Ishaan Majeed, a bi-sexual youth from Bandipora, was in contact with Owais since last one year, faking as girl. “Ishaan is bi-sexual and was acting like a girl by the name of Umaira from Wanbal, Nowgam, from last one year. Ishaan (Umaira) had also talk with Owais’s family members including his sister and cousin Tanveer Ahmad,” Bhat said.
He said that Owais was pressing Umaira for a meeting from the last one year but on 12th of this year, he pressed him hard for a meet and Ishaan agreed the same and asked him to meet on the railway track. “Ishaan after meeting Owais revealed that it was he who was posing as a girl. The same talk led a scuffle between the two persons. Ishaan brought him down on the railway track and kicked him repeatedly thereby led to the killing of Owais,” Bhat said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Bhat further informed that the two sims through which Ishaan used to talk with Owais were broken by him and thrown into a Nallah and thus tried to destroy the evidence.
“During investigation, it was found that in the evening of 12th of this month, one constable of GRP did find some blood stains on the soil and noticed a human body in the shallow waters down the track. The person didn’t inform the police and instead planed to dispose of the body away from the track. Manzoor Ahmad of Chadoora, Muhammad Ayoub of Humhama and Noor Muhammad of Khansahib who picked who picked up the body has also been arrested including the main accused, Ishaan,” he said, adding the investigation in this case is still going on.
Owais, 22, an engineering student at a private college here was found murdered near Railway track in Peerbagh locality of Humhama in Budgam district on Thursday morning. He was missing for a day before his body was found. The gruesome murder sparked protests in the area, with people resorting to vandalism of roads and public property. (KNS)
