Police conduct joint patrol to restore public confidence in Peeri, Rajouri

Srinagar, April 15 (KNS): A joint patrol was conducted in the Peeri area to restore public confidence and establish police dominance in Peeri area Rajouri district of Jammu region.

In a statement, the police said that the operation was under the command of Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rajouri-Poonch Range, Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal, IPS. 

It said that the Deputy Superintendent of Police for the Police Component Rajouri, Shivender Singh Jamwal, and the Station House Officer for the Kandi Police Station, Raza Ali, accompanied him, along with the police personnel from Kandi and Peeri Police Posts.

"During the operation, a security and crime review meeting was held at the Peeri Police Post, chaired by the DIG Range," the police said, adding that at the beginning of the meeting, the DIG provided necessary instructions regarding the current and upcoming policing challenges, and reviewed the performance of the Peeri Police Post, including a stores and weapons inspection.

The DIG, as per the statement emphasized the importance of generating valuable intelligence inputs regarding the movement of anti-national elements (ANEs), drug peddlers, and bovine smugglers operating in the area, and stressed that intelligence is the key to policing challenges. 

He encouraged local policemen to use their contacts to develop a strong intelligence network and to pass on quality information immediately to concerned authorities to help restore peace in the area.

The DIG checked various welfare issues of the men at the Peeri Police Post and advised them to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the premises. He emphasized the importance of timely and quality delivery of public services.(KNS).
