Police martyrs remembered for their sacrifices for the Nation

Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): In order to pay tributes to the martyrs and commemorate their sacrifices, Nation Police Day was observed on Saturday across the State.
On this occasion blood donations camps were organized and gifts were provided to the Kins of martyrs.
The State level function was held at Armed Police Complex Zewan where contingents of different forces including Police, SDRF, CRPF, BSF participated in the parade. Minister for Revenue, Rehabilitation and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Speakers Legislative Council, Nazir Ahmad Khan and a number of MLAs, MLCs attended the function.
Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid along with a galaxy of senior police officers was present at the parade.
Sacrifices of the martyrs, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation, were remembered and wreaths were laid at the martyr’s memorial. Families of the martyrs were also present on the occasion.
Blood donation camp was held where a number of Jawans and officers donated the blood.
In Jammu province, the main function was held at Gulshan Ground Jammu where Dy. Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh was the Chief Guest and. Jammu Zone, Dr. S. D. Singh, DIG JKS Range Shri Rafiq-ul-Hassan and GOs of all Jammu based Units were present, apart from a large number of senior / retired Police Officers and prominent Citizens of Jammu. Wreaths were laid at the martyrs memorial Real Head.
In South Kashmir’s Anantnag District, the commemoration day was observed at District police lines in which DIG, south Kashmir Range S.P Pani, SSP Anantnag, Altaf Ahmad Khan , Deputy commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis and other senior officers of police and civil administration participated and paid rich tribute to the police martyrs.
MLA Shangus, Dooru, and senior citizens, besides families of Martyrs were present also. Blood donation camp was also held where Jawans and officers donated 53 pints of blood. In Awantipora, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama the Commemoration Day was observed where senior officers of police, Security Forces, civil administration and people from different walks of life participated and remembered the sacrifices of martyrs.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District, SSP Fayaz Ahmad Lone, ASP Ganderbal Fayaz Hussain, DySP Hqr Ganderbal Dr. Rameez Raja, DySP DAR Ghulam Hassan Bhukhari, SDPO Kangan Umar Shah, other police officers/officials paid floral tributes to police martyrs who laid their lives on the line of duty.
On the occasion. In Budgam, SSP and DC Budgam led the officers of Police, security forces , civil administration and paid floral tribute to the martyrs. In Kargil, Additional SSP Kargil, Arun Gupta, Executive Councilor LAHDC Mohammad Ameer, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Gulzar Hussain, Principal District and Session Judge RK Bhagat, CO 22 Jatt JS Gill, retired DIG and ex.MP G.H.Khan, Dy.SP HQ Kargil Ishtyaq A Kacho, Dy.SP DAR Regzin Sandup besides district, police and army officers along with prominent citizens and retired police personnel attended the commemoration function at DPL and paid rich tribute to the martyrs.
In North Kashmir’s Handwara district , SSP Handwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani , Dysp DAR Farooq Ahmad, Dysp (ops) Handwara Manish Kumar, Dysp Kralgund Tariq Masqood and other officers/ Jawans of Police/CRPF paid tribute to the martyrs during the commemoration Day celebration at District police Lines Handwara. In Bandipra, Police Commemoration Day observed at DPL where DDC Bandipore,SSP Bandipore, Commandant CRPF 3rd Bn, officers of Army and civil administration, principals of various educational institutes participated and paid tribute to the martyrs who laid the lives for safeguarding the integrity of the nation. In Sopore, SSP Sopore , ADC Sopore , CRPF and Army Commandants, principals of various schools of Sopore and prominent citizens attended the commemoration Day function at DPL and remembered the supreme sacrifices of the policemen. the commemoration functions was also held in Baramulla and Kupwara where concern police heads led the officers of police, Army, security forces, and paid floral tribute to the martyrs.
