Police claims recovery of arms, ammunition in Keran, Kupwara


Srinagar, Mar 23 (KNS): Police on Monday claimed to have recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition from Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. It said the recovery amounts to big jolt to Lashkar-e-Toiba who planned to revive militancy in Sopore.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Kashmir Zone Police claimed that after specific input, a joint operation was launched by Sopore, Kupwara Police and Army’s 6 RR after which a militant hideout was busted. It said during the operation huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered which includes 8 AK 47 rifles, 25 AK Magazines, 750 AK rounds, 09 Pistols, 16 Pistol Magazines, 351 Pistol Round, 77 Grenades and 21 Detonators.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Police said that the recovery was a big jolt to Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit who planned to revive militancy in Sopore.
In a tweet Kashmir Zone Police said, “In a joint ops of #Sopore, #Kupwara Police & local Army unit 6 RR recovered following Arms/Amns from #Keran (Kupwara): AK 47=8; AK Mag=25; AK rounds=750; Pistols=09; Pistal Mag=16; Pistol Round=351; Grenades=77; Detonators=21.
