Srinagar, Apr 03 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Friday busted Lashkar-e-Toiba module in north Kashmir’s Handwara town and arrested 7 persons including 4 militants and 3 OGW’s.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), “On the basis of specific information regarding the activities  of anti-national elements, the residences of Azad Ahmad Bhat Son of Abdul Razaq Resident of Shalpora Langate, Altaf Baba Son of Salam ud-din Residents of Rafiabad, Babagund and Irshad Ahmad Resident of Silikote Uri were raided during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday”, police said.

It said, during the searches besides arms and ammunition, several letter pads of proscribed militant outfit LeT were recovered and above mentioned persons were arrested.

Police also said, during questioning it came to surface that all the person were working with militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba and were motivating youth of the area by providing them arms and ammunition to join militancy.

“The detained persons during questioning further disclosed that they have provided arms and ammunitions to some youth who joined militant ranks recently and are operating in the jurisdiction of Handwara”, police said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Meanwhile in the wee hours of 03/04/2020, Handwara police with 21 RR, 30 RR and 92 BN CRPF following the input regarding the presence of militants in Village Gund Chogal launched a search operation. During search operation 04 militants of LeT were apprehended along with 03 AK-47, 08 AK 47 Magazines, 332 AK rounds, 12 Hand Grenades, 03 Pistol, 06 Pistol Magazines, 24 Pistol Rounds and letter Pad of LeT outfit.

Police identified the arrested militants as Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan Son of Abdul Rashid Chopan Resident of Shartpora Langate, Mudasir Ahmad Pandit son of Abdul Rehman resident of Zargar Mohalla Langate, Mohammad Rafi Sheikh Son of Mohammad Ahsan Sheikh Residen of Eidgah Mohalla Langate and Burhan Mushtaq Wani Son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Tulwari Langate.

In this context a case under FIR No. 104/2020 U/s 120 B IPC, 7/25 I. A. Act, 16, 18, 19, 38, 39 UAP Act has been registered in Police Station Handwara and further investigation into the matter has been taken up. (KNS)
