Police arrests fraudster for grabbing money to release a person from custody; ₹50,000 recovered

Baramulla April 26 (KNS) : Police arrest a fraudster in Baramulla who grabbed ?50,000 from a lady for release of his son from custody.

Police in Baramulla received a complaint from a lady stating their in that one person namely Mohd Shafi Bhat son of Gh Mohd Bhat resident of Iqbal Colony Old Town Baramulla C/O Pakeeza Textiles Baramulla had taken ?50000 from complainant for release of his son namely Shabir Ahmad Teli son of Gh Mohd resident of Banglaw Bagh Baramulla from police custody. However, he had not helped in any way in releasing her son. Later, the fraudster has issued fake cheques in favour of the complainant which got bounced thus duped and cheated without any courtesy.

Accordingly, a case under relevant section of law was registered and investigation was set in to motion. Acting swiftly, investigating team arrested the accused person and recovered grabbed money amounting ?50,000 form his possession.

Pertinent to mention that the fraudster posing as social activist remains very active on social media thus giving an impression of a responsible citizen with the intent to target gullible masses. General public is requested not to fall prey to such deceptions.(KNS)
