Srinagar, April 1 (KNS): Pulwama Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 70 grams of heroine and 300 grams of charas from them at Naina Area of Litter.

Police has launched its drive against drug menace in District Pulwama.

A police statement issued to KNS reads, "on the direction of SDPO Litter Furqan Qadri, SHO Police Station Litter Hafiz Chowdary established a naka at Naina area of Litter, Pulwama. During Naka checking one suspicious person tried to flee away from the spot after sighting naka party who was apprehended tactfully by the naka party. On his physical search 300 grams of Charas has been recovered from his possession. The accused has been arrested and identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat Son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat resident of Nowgam Verinag Anantnag."

  The Statement added that another Naka was established at Batpora Litter on the direction of SDPO Litter, Police party apprehended one suspicious person and recovered 70 grams Brown sugar (Heroine) like substance from his possession. The accused has been arrested and identified as Ghulam Nabi Matoo son of  Mohammad Akbar Matoo Resident of Naina Litter.

   Police has registered a Case FIR No. 11/2021 and FIR No. 12/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act have been registered in Police Station Litter and investigations taken set into motion.

 SDPO Litter has sought cooperation of general public to control the illegal drug menace in Pulwama, so that the drug trafficking can be eradicated from the society. (KNS)
