Police, SOG raids Jamaat headquarter

Detains Spokesperson

Srinagar, Aug 31 (KNS): Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir expresses its anger and anxiety over the raid made by Police and SOG personnel at its headquarter Batamaloo here and termed it ‘unjustified’ and ‘undemocratic’.
In a statement issued by Press & Publication department of the organization, ‘Police and other SOG personnel raided Jama’at headquarters in Batmaloo today at around 11:30 am. Government forces first cordoned off the building, barged inside, searched and asked about the Jama’at leaders, statement reads.
‘They searched the entire building and later arrested Advocate Zahid Ali, spokesperson and political bureau head of Jama’at’, who was present in the office. Pertinently Zahid Ali was earlier detained by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Nowgam when he was on way to Pulwama.
Notably, government forces have arrested many top and lower cadre of Jama’at activists from valley. From Sopore, 75 year old Jama’at leader Muhammad Yousuf Sheikh, who is known face of Jama’at in the area have been slapped by Public Safety Act (PSA).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir condemns the callous and inhumane behavior of Indian forces who killed Danish Manzoor at Nadihal Rafiabad of no fault. Danish was protesting peacefully against the ongoing killings and state-sponsored terrorism. Forces unleash a reign of terror in valley and used bullets and pellets just to curb the genuine voice of people. Kashmiris were protesting peacefully for the accomplishment of their fundamental and birth right “right to self-determination” at Shopian, Bandipora, Katrusu, and Srinagar, but New-Delhi pay no heed to the ground situation which itself is a blatant violation of human rights. Using live ammunition against people to deter them from their fundamental right, will not work further, statement added.
Jama’at-e-Islami impresses upon UNO and human rights organizations to come forward and take serious note of Indian atrocities on hapless Kashmiris so that the all violations committed by Indian forces will end. (KNS)
