Srinagar, July 13(KNS): Students persuing degrees through Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme in different parts of country has alleged reduction in annual maintenance.

A group of Students While talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that they had taken admission in Bangalore through PMSSS and we were promised an annual maintenance of Rs. 100000 i.e., 50000 per semester.

However we were only paid 20000 for odd semester and nothing as of now for even semester. Although it is clearly stated in the scholarship form that the maintenance money comprises of books, examination fee, travel, rent and other expenses of students, still they are reluctant to pay us the pending amount, they said.

The Students further said that due to pandemic the colleges were closed and they had online classes but they had to pay the full rent for our rented premises be it college hostel or PG. so it is our right to get the full amount as was promised during the time of councilling.(KNS)
