Dooru, June 9 (KNS) : Senior PDP leader and Constituency Incharge AC-41 Shahabad Sagam, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, to intervene in the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Dooru constituency.
In a public statement issued on behalf of several deserving families, Malik expressed concern that the benefits under PMAY have not reached many genuinely poor and eligible households living in kutcha and dilapidated houses. He alleged that while a select few have received benefits, numerous deserving families continue to remain excluded despite repeated applications and requests.
He said that such discrepancies defeat the core objective of the PMAY scheme, which aims to provide housing assistance to economically weaker and vulnerable sections of society.

Malik urged the district administration, particularly the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and SDM Dooru, to conduct an immediate and transparent review of the PMAY beneficiary list in the constituency. He demanded that deserving families be given priority and that accountability be fixed wherever irregularities or favoritism are found.
Appealing directly to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Malik requested their personal intervention to ensure a fair and impartial inquiry into the matter and to safeguard the rights of poor families awaiting housing assistance for years.
He emphasized that the people of Dooru expect transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity in the implementation of all welfare schemes and expressed hope that the administration would take swift action to deliver justice to the underprivileged. (KNS)
