PM should sack Jitendra Singh for creating hurdles in investigation of Kathua case: Monga

Demands cancellation of license of Kathua lawyers

Srinagar, Apr 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and MLC G N Monga today asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack MoS in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh for his role in creating hurdles in Crime Branch investigations in Kathua rape and murder case.
In a statement issued to KNS, he said, “Mere assurances and statement of PM won’t help. It was Jitendra Singh along with Lal Singh, Chander Prakash Ganga and other BJP leaders tried to create hurdles in Crime Branch investigations. Now everything is clear and it is the time that either Jitendra Singh steps down or PM sacks him.”
The MoS in PMO, who represents Udhampur Parliament seat in the Lok Sabha had in February said, “If people feel that they don’t have faith in the police or the Crime Branch investigation and the case needs to be handed over to the CBI, I don’t think there is any problem in handing over the case to the CBI.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIf the state government does so and recommends it to the Centre, we will definitely act on it.”
Monga said instead of visiting the victim family and ensuring justice to eight-year-old nomad girl, the MoS, in whose parliamentary constituency Kathua falls, tried to hamper the investigations in the case which is shameful.
He also demanded cancellation of the licences of lawyers of Kathua, who tried to prevent Crime Branch personnel from filing charge sheet against the rape and murder accused in Asifa case in the court.
“Not only should these lawyers be arrested, but their licences should also be cancelled. They tried to give communal colour to a heinous crime. I hope that, after a full investigation and trail, the culprits will face the most severe punishment for their horrific and inhuman acts,” the Congress leader added. (KNS)
